Automobile elevator : The elevator which have  suitable sizes for carrying noncommercial  motor vehicles
Elevator : Essentially its sizes and construction, it is a vehicle carrying human and load to the certain destinations between guide rails being full vertical or less than 15’ to the full vertical.
Elevator hoistway : It is the cavity moving in cabin or if avaible in counterweight. This cavity is restricted with pit bottom, pit wall and pit ceiling.
Elevator Pit : It is the cavity moving in cabin and counterweight or if avaible in balance weight. This cavity is restricted with pit bottom, pit wall and pit ceiling.
Rated speed : The cabin speed value of the designed elevator expressed as mt/s.
Rated load  : The load lifting value of the designed.
Balance weight :It is the mass saving energy by balancing full weight or some weight of the cabin.

Electric guard chain : The whole of electric guard apparatus connected serial.
The smallest rope breaking load : It is equal with rope rated diameter square and  a coefficient multiplication based on the resistance of rope wires and rope structure.
Lap : It is the part laying down from the cabin doorstep or destination door doorstep to the bottom on vertical direction.
Safety gear : It is a mechanic gear that keeps fixed the cabin, the counterweight or balancing weight by braking when acceleration towards the bottom or  suspension gear breaking occurs.
Overspeed governor : It is an arrangement which keep the driving gear circuit out when the elevator reached on a certain speed and work if necessary.
Frame  : A metal frame connected to suspension ropes, and lifting the cabin, counterweight or balancing weight. This frame can be a part of te cabin wall.
Cabin : A part of the elevator lifting human and load
Cabin flexiable cable : A flexiable cable attaching the connection between the  cabin and control panel .
Counterweight  : A mass driving by friction.
Slide safety gear  : A safety gear, taken special precaution, working with friction to brake by effecting guide rails for restricting on an acceptable certain value of the force occuring on the cabin, counterweight or balancing weight.
Guide Rails : The elevator parts guiding to the cabin, counterweight and balancing weight
Lock dilatation zone : A zone where should be on and under the destination level of the cabin floor for permitting to be opened the destination door lock
User  : A person using the elevator
Usable cabin zone : A zone measured at 1 mt height from the flor and used by passangers and load lifting during the elevator is working
Pit ground clearance : The elevator pit part on the upper destination level which the cabin goes.
